Radha Mohan Singh, an Indian politician and a member of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), became a Union Cabinet Minister in 2014. An MP from Purvi Champaran constituency of Bihar, he was appointed Minister of Agriculture on May 26, 2014, in the Cabinet of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi.
Born on September 1, 1949, in a farmer’s family at Narha Panapur village in the East Champaran district of Bihar, Radha Mohan Singh completed his graduation (B.A.) from M.S. College, Bihar University, Motihari, Bihar. He is married to Shanti Devi and they have two children – a daughter and a son. While pursuing his political dreams, he stayed connected to his roots – farming.
Since his youth, he was an active RSS Swayamsevak. He embarked upon a political career after becoming a member of Jan Sangh and BJP. His political journey has always been on an upward trajectory and it continued when he became the Union Cabinet Minister.
Shri Radha Mohan Singh is deeply committed to the cause of the poor and downtrodden. He firmly believes in empowering farmers because he feels the nation can prosper by enabling farmers and equipping villages. After assuming charge, he said:
“Our main priority will be to empower farmers of the country”.
